The CHC82015 Graduate Certificate in Client Assessment and Case Management is an AQF Level 8 qualification for advanced practitioners in health and community services. It reflects the role of workers who provide specialist services to clients with complex and diverse needs, and who are required to demonstrate autonomy, well-developed judgement, adaptability and responsibility.
Delivered face-to-face at our Burwood campus in Sydney’s Inner West over 52 weeks, the course covers advanced client assessment, goal-directed case planning, work with carers and families in complex situations, domestic and family violence screening, child-inclusive practice and ethical leadership. There is no work placement component; practical skills are assessed through simulated workplace activities on campus.
This is not an entry-level qualification. It is designed for practitioners who already understand client work and want to move into senior, complex and coordinating roles.

This is a nationally recognised qualification. You must successfully complete all units to be awarded it. Each unit contains assessments, which include:

Entry requirements
To be offered a place, you must:
- Aged 18 years or over at course commencement
- A minimum three-year tertiary qualification in a related field or significant relevant industry experience in healthcare, community services, disability, aged care, mental health, welfare, family support or case work
- IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, no band below 5.5 — or an approved equivalent including PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, Cambridge English, OET or approved EAP
- Student visa, Genuine Student and NTA admissions requirements
- Pre-training review and LLN assessment
No work placement component. Practical skills are assessed on campus through simulated workplace activities — intake interviews, risk screenings and case conferences.
