HLTAID011 PROVIDE FIRST AID
Course Outline
This is a nationally recognised statement of attainment. It will give you the knowledge and skills to provide a
first aid response in a range of situations including community and workplace settings.This course is the current
recognised accredited course in generalised first aid course that employers require. In this course You will learn
how to:
- Conduct a hazard assessment and identify strategies to minimise risk
- Demonstrate safe manual handling techniques
- Assess airway, breathing and responsiveness of casualty
- Perform at least two minutes of uninterrupted CPR on both infant resuscitation manikin and an adult resuscitation manikin
- Follow the prompts of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Conduct a verbal secondary survey
- Apply first aid procedures for a wide range of situations
- Provide an accurate verbal report of the incident
- Respond to at least three simulated emergency scenarios contextualised to the candidate’s workplace/community setting.
Entry Requirements
- There are no academic prerequisites for the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support. But you need to have reasonable English Language, Literacy and Numeracy to successfully complete the course (LLN).
Course Duration
This course is across two days as follows:
- Pre workshop: Self paced study and on completion submit your answers to Nurse training for marking
- 1 day workshop

Course Delivery and Assessment
- Delivery is a combination of methods to cover the theory and practice requirements. These methods include:
- Self-paced study and support to develop your knowledge of the concepts above
- Face to face instruction in a simulated environment to give you that valuable practice.
- Training rooms contain:
- CPR Mannequins,
- Bandages for splints, dressing wounds
- All other equipment required to cover topics
Recongition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfers

Course Fees
NTA will decide the course fees based on the credit transfer and Unit of Competency required to achieve the qualification. Fees are payable by Cheque, Money order, Cash, Internet, Bank Deposit or Direct Debit. NTA may enter into payment plans depending on student needs on a case by case basis.
